Your child’s iPhone

🔓My child turned it off, or their iPhone stopped checking in

The usual cause is Face ID on an older iOS, or a Screen Time passcode that isn’t locked to you. Follow Lock it down in 5 minutes.

👟Steps aren’t counting
  1. On their iPhone, make sure Fitness Tracking is on: Settings › Privacy & Security › Motion & Fitness.
  2. Make sure Activate Fitness can read Health data: Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Activate Fitness, and turn everything on.
  3. Using a wearable? Open its app (Garmin Connect, Google Health for Fitbit, Whoop, Oura) so it syncs to Apple Health. An Apple Watch should be nearby and synced.
  4. Steps only count when the iPhone (or watch) is with them, not left on a charger.
⏳They earned time, but an app is still blocked

Something else is blocking the same app. iPhone can’t tell us when that happens, so check both:

  1. Remove any other parental-control app from their iPhone.
  2. In Settings › Screen Time, turn off any Downtime or App Limits covering the apps they earn.
🔔Notifications aren’t showing up

On the phone that’s missing them, open Settings › Notifications › Activate Fitness and turn on Allow Notifications. Also check that a Focus mode (like Sleep or Do Not Disturb) isn’t hiding them.

📱My child has a new iPhone
  1. On your phone, open their profile, tap the old device and unpair it.
  2. Tap Add Device and pair the new iPhone with the 6-digit code.
  3. On the new iPhone, finish the checklist, including Lock Screen Time Settings.
💻Adding an iPad or second device

Tap Add Device again in their profile. Both devices share one balance. Because of an Apple limitation, choose the same apps and categories again on the second device, and lock its Screen Time settings too.

Setup and pairing

🔢The pairing code doesn’t work
  • Codes expire after 10 minutes. Tap Add Device again for a fresh one.
  • On the child’s iPhone, make sure you tapped “Setting up a child’s device?” rather than creating an account.
  • Both phones need an internet connection.
🧑It asks for Face ID or a passcode during setup

That’s iPhone confirming Screen Time access, and it’s expected once. Your child confirms with their Face ID, or you enter their phone passcode.

🧩How do I add the widget?

Long-press the Home Screen until apps wiggle → Edit (or +) → Add Widget → search “Activate Fitness” → choose Medium.

Your account

🔑I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password. The email link works for 1 hour.

🗑️Delete a profile or my account
  • A child’s profile: open the profile, tap edit, then Delete Profile (Admin PIN required).
  • Your account: open My Account, then Delete Account. This removes every profile and its data.
